Hi

Richard from York Place Dental here.

A heartfelt message to anyone thinking about going abroad for "cheaper" dental care. You might have seen the ads in the Sunday papers, or maybe you know someone who has already been and done it.

I've just finished a five hour session removing a large number of crowns that were created unbelievably quickly, at a favourable price, abroad. Sadly there was nothing much that was right about the crowns, and given that the intention was to get a better smile, the treatment was a complete failure.

The cost of doing the work again is far in excess of the cost of carrying it out from scratch, and it's going to take months to complete - gums need to heal, root canals need to be filled.

Most, but not all, of the best dentists in the world are not British, and there are excellent places to have treatment worldwide, so I'm not being xenophobic.

Just be aware that if it looks too good to be true, it probably is :-)

If you've been abroad for treatment and are having problems, get in touch, we'd be delighted to help you dental_tourism_package
