Meet Annie
Annie visited York Place Dental hoping to improve her smile, with concerns including an overbite, increased overjet and crowding, as well as a missing upper left canine.
Richard planned a combined orthodontic approach. Three teeth were removed to create the space needed to improve the alignment: the upper right first premolar, upper left second premolar and lower left second premolar.
Fixed braces were then used in the lower arch to help close the spaces and prepare the teeth for the next stage of treatment. The patient then progressed to Invisalign, which was used to continue straightening the teeth and refine the bite and overall alignment.
Once orthodontic treatment was complete, Annie completed a course of whitening, before composite bonding was added to the upper left first premolar, reshaping it to resemble the missing canine and helping to create a more balanced final smile.
Meet Leo
Leo visited York Place Dental following previous dental trauma, with a number of damaged and missing teeth that needed to be restored in stages.
At York Place Dental, Richard Hellen first focused on stabilising and rebuilding the damaged teeth. Two lower teeth were treated with root canal therapy by David Bullamore, before three lower teeth were restored with crowns to strengthen them and improve their appearance.
Leo was then referred to Crossbank Dental for the implant stage of his treatment, where two dental implants were placed to replace missing upper teeth.
Once the implants had healed, Leo returned to York Place Dental for the restorative phase. Richard used Digital Smile Design to plan the shape, proportions and appearance of the final restorations, before fitting the definitive implant crowns to blend naturally with the surrounding teeth and complete the smile.
This patient was missing three upper teeth. Ryan Jamieson placed two dental implants, which were then used to support an implant-retained bridge to replace all three missing teeth and restore the smile.
Invisalign was used to straighten this patient’s teeth, followed by professional home whitening. Richard Hellen then used composite bonding to build up the lateral incisors and improve her smile's proportions.
Following extractions, this patient wore a temporary denture while the gums and jawbone settled. Once healing was complete, Ryan Jamieson worked with Taggartsto create a full acrylic denture for a natural-looking smile.
