News and updates from York Place Dental, Carlisle

What happens now?

Here at York Place Dental, we understand that the current situation has been a testing time for everyone, and also that we need to ensure that we are still able to care for you and your dental needs. Although dental practices were always safe places, we have redesigned the way we operate so that we can welcome and care for you whilst complying with enhanced government safety measures.

When you next come to the practice you will notice some changes which are designed to ensure the safety of you and our team.

If you have any of the symptoms of COVID 19 or if you have been advised to self-isolate, please let us know as soon as you can. Do not attend your appointment and please follow government guidelines around self-isolation.

If you need to reschedule your appointment, please do so at least 2 working days before it is due. If you do not give us 2 working days' notice, there will be a cancellation fee.

Before your appointment

We will send you the key information before your appointment. You will receive an email that we ask you to read in full.

We will send you a link to an online medical history form, it is quick and easy to complete. It is an important requirement. If you are having problems completing the medical history form, please call us at the practice.

Payments for treatment should be made in advance, we are facilitating contactless payments for your safety and convenience.

On the day of your appointment

Before you leave home, please ensure that you have used the lavatory and brushed your teeth. We have to fully disinfect our washroom each time it is used.

It is important that you do not bring a number of things with you, such as coats, bags and mobile phones, please ensure you only bring necessary items with you.

Any items you bring with you will have to be stored in a secure place whilst you are in the surgery.

You should always attend alone unless you require physical assistance or are supporting a child or someone who is vulnerable.

On the morning of your appointment you will receive a text message containing an online self-check in link. When you arrive at the practice, please stay in your car or in the vestibule and click on the self-check in link to let us know that you have arrived. Once our surgeries are ready, we will call you and invite you to come to the door and enter the practice. Please wear your face covering.

When you enter the practice, you will be greeted by one of our team who will ask you if you have had any symptoms of COVID 19. If you have, you will not be able to enter the practice further, we will need to reschedule your appointment and you will need to follow government self-isolation guidelines.

You will be asked to sanitise your hands. If you do not have your own face covering, we will provide one for you. You will be asked to leave any belongings on the hooks in the hallway.

Our patient lounge area will not be in use and you will be taken straight to surgery. You will be guided to the appropriate treatment room at a safe distance.

In Surgery

When you enter the surgery our team will be wearing extra personal protective equipment. It may be difficult to see our faces but it is still the usual friendly team!

When we are ready, we will ask you to remove your face covering.

After your appointment

Once your treatment is complete you will be asked to replace your face covering. A member of our clinical team will come and open the door for you and to see you safely out of the practice.

We will return your belongings and you will be asked to sanitise your hands before you leave.

Please try not to touch the door handles whist in the practice.

We do kindly request contactless payment in advance of treatment either over the telephone or via bank transfer. If payment has not already been secured contactless payment via card will be available.

If you have any questions after your appointment, we will call you to discuss this.

As always, every step we are taking is with your safety in mind along with providing you with the highest standard of care.

If you have any questions, please get in touch via email or telephone. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
